Playing
A game won't start, or it's stuck loading
Tap Retry on the loading card, or reload the page. Still stuck? Try another browser. On an iPhone use Safari, and for full screen tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. If it keeps failing, email us the game's name and your device.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play as a guest and your progress is kept on that device. Sign in to keep it across devices, to chat, to earn badges and to post scores. Whatever you did as a guest moves to your account when you sign in.
How do I play with friends?
Press Play for a public server, or start a private server from the game's page or the in-game menu and send the invite link. You can also add friends by username or with a friend link (Friends), then use Join on their name. Friends can form a party to play together.
Why can't I chat or share a link?
Chat needs an account. For their first week, new accounts can't share links or contact details, which keeps everyone safer.
Your account
I forgot my password
Choose Forgot? on the log in page and we email you a link. A username-only account has no email, so it can't be reset. Add an email in Settings → Recovery email while you can still log in.
The email didn't arrive
Check spam, and that the address is right. Emails come from support@onceworlds.com. Wait a minute before asking again.
Change my username or display name
In Settings. Display names can change any time; usernames once a day.
Someone else is logged in as me
Change your password, then use Log out everywhere else in Settings.
Delete my account
In Settings, Delete account. It permanently removes your account, saves and progress, and can't be undone.
Safety
Report a player or a game
Use the menu in the game (Report next to a player's name), the ••• on a game's page, or a profile's report button. You can also block someone from their profile. For anything urgent, email us.
A parent or guardian's question
Email support@onceworlds.com from the address you want us to reply to, with the username concerned.
Making games
How do I publish?
Games are published from a GitHub repository. Start with the guide and the example games.
My public game says "In review"
Games from new creators are checked before they're listed. It plays by its link meanwhile, and you don't need to do anything.
Someone copied my game, art or music
Email support@onceworlds.com with the link to the game and to your original, and say what's yours. We'll look into it.
